Intellectual Property Rights

At KuzminSLP, we value and respect the intellectual property rights of all individuals and organizations, including those of our instructors, course participants, and external collaborators. The following policies and procedures govern the creation, use, and protection of intellectual property (IP) within our continuing education programs:

1. Ownership of Intellectual Property

1.1 Content Developed by KuzminSLP:
All materials created by KuzminSLP, including but not limited to course content, handouts, presentations, videos, and graphics, are the exclusive intellectual property of KuzminSLP. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or use of these materials is strictly prohibited.

1.2 Instructor-Provided Content:
Instructors who develop materials specifically for courses hosted by KuzminSLP retain ownership of their intellectual property unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. By agreeing to teach for KuzminSLP, instructors grant a limited, non-exclusive license for the use of their materials within the agreed-upon courses.

1.3 Collaborative Content:
When course materials are developed collaboratively between KuzminSLP and an instructor or external party, ownership and usage rights will be determined by a written agreement prior to the course.

2. Use of Third-Party Materials

2.1 Copyright Compliance:
KuzminSLP ensures compliance with all copyright laws. Any third-party materials used in courses (e.g., journal articles, videos, images) must have appropriate citations, permissions or licenses. Instructors are responsible for verifying the legal use of external content they include in their presentations.

2.2 Attribution:
All third-party materials used in KuzminSLP courses must include proper attribution to the original creators as required by copyright law.

3. Participant Use of Materials

3.1 License for Participants:
Participants are granted a non-transferable, single-use license to access and use course materials for personal and professional development only. Participants are prohibited from reproducing, sharing, or distributing course materials without express written permission from KuzminSLP.

3.2 Confidentiality:
Participants are expected to maintain the confidentiality of proprietary course content, including methods, strategies, and case studies, as part of their agreement to attend KuzminSLP courses.

4. Violations of Intellectual Property Rights

4.1 Reporting Violations:
Any suspected violations of intellectual property rights (e.g., unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of course materials) should be reported to KuzminSLP immediately.

4.2 Resolution Process:
KuzminSLP will investigate reported violations promptly. If a violation is confirmed, KuzminSLP reserves the right to pursue legal action, revoke course participation, and/or deny future access to programs.

5. Procedures for Handling IP Disputes

5.1 Internal Resolution:
In cases of IP disputes involving instructors, participants, or third parties, KuzminSLP will facilitate discussions to seek an amicable resolution.

5.2 External Resolution:
If internal resolution efforts fail, disputes may be escalated to legal counsel or mediation services specializing in intellectual property law.

6. Updates to the Policy

This policy is reviewed annually to ensure compliance with current intellectual property laws and practices. Any changes to the policy will be communicated to instructors, participants, and stakeholders.

By participating in or contributing to KuzminSLP programs, all instructors, participants, and collaborators agree to abide by these policies and procedures. These guidelines are designed to protect the intellectual property rights of all parties while fostering a collaborative and respectful learning environment.
