Make room for play

Simple ways to get started.

A few little invitations to connect.
Follow the child’s lead and make it your own.

  1. Play idea 1

Choose a creature and find a place for it in the park.

  2. Play idea 2

Use the sentence strip to share what you see.

  3. Play idea 3

Take turns adding pieces and describing their colors and positions.

Print & prepare

Print all three pages single-sided on US Letter paper in landscape at Actual size / 100%. Each page has at least a quarter-inch margin. Check one page before printing the rest.

These activities are prepared by the SLP before the session; children do not cut out the pieces. Use paper or cardstock and cut out all pieces. We recommend laminating the cutouts for added durability and long-lasting, repeated use. Glue Velcro (hook-and-loop fasteners) to the pieces and corresponding attachment points, rather than gluing the pieces together. Let the glue dry fully so the child can attach, remove and reattach the pieces during supervised sessions.
